Mission/Philosophy
Tailgating, intended to be a friendly and fun way to celebrate a day of athletic competition, has existed at Texas A&M University for many years. With time the number of people and groups engaged in tailgating has grown, and tailgating occurs now for several sports in multiple locations on campus.
Both Texas A&M University and tailgaters have responsibilities for making tailgating an enjoyable experience. Our guiding philosophy is:
"Tailgating activity provides a special time for the Aggie Family to gather in groups with shared interests and reconnect before and after sporting events. Much more than just a time to visit over food and drink, tailgating also provides an opportunity to show guests and competitors the Aggie Spirit and our famous Texas Aggie hospitality. As an event for Aggies of all ages, it is also an opportunity to demonstrate responsibility and world-class sportsmanship while celebrating our school and our Fightin' Texas Aggie teams."
